The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time
To the Fair...or not!
This Friday brought with it my new hair cut and and short bouts of rain. As demolition derby and unhealthy treats time approached the rain seemed to have moved away, the weather channel said so too! All set for destruction and tummy treats we left to meet friends at the Shady grove metro. However, a phone call warned us of incredible rains and clouds. As the train pulled into the twinbrook station the sky was half blue and half thunderous black. The thickness of the clouds bode bad news. We got off at the shady grove metro and were welcomed with a sheet of rain. The 30 second walk to my friend's car was rather wet, to say the least. Of course, the landing in a puddle of water couldn't really have made the situation any worse.
Plans needed to be changed! Dinner at Mama Lucias ensued. No complains there! There was ample delicious bread and olive oil :D Followed by a single pizza slice :) It went on to be a fun evening, just not as slam-crash-crunch as I'd imagined.

Don't likes
The above incident reminded me of a couple of recent conversations I had with friends. They were about how I extremely dislike the word 'bum'. I don't know why this is so. I have no issues with ass, buttocks etc. But, bum, I do not like. I also do not like the word 'dick'. But its usage as a name in an Enid Blyton book makes no difference to me. I don't understand this bias I have.
Any idea?

The Story!

Once upon a time there were no problems in the land of milk and honey. People seemed happy, the birds were singing, the frogs pondered, the sheep meadowed and the kids imagined.
In this land there were eight days a week, giving everyone ample time to do anything their heart desired. However, something seemed to be lacking in everyone's life. So while everyone seemed to be happy, they weren't completely satisfied. This bothered Jude and he decided to do something about it. He put on his old brown shoes and followed the long and winding road to Rita's home. There Sally was visiting as well.
Rita had just picked some sea cucumbers from Octopus's garden. She made some cucumber sandwiches for her guests. While munching on these crunchy sandwiches Jude shared his thoughts. He talked about how everyone had enough food and sufficient time to do everything they wanted, but if you looked deep into their eyes, they just looked like glass onions, lots of layers but so fragile. This made the girls think and realise what this boy had said held weight.
Now that they had acknowledged something was amiss they decided to go to Doctor Robert for help. Perhaps he would be able to help them in this endeavor. They followed the Blue Jay way to his clinic. There, after much discussion over a taste of honey they concluded that a critical emotion was missing. They realised that across the universe they were living in a world without love.
To fix this, they decided that they must all come together like dreamers do and visit the land that holds the 'illusion'. Because, that'll be the day when their ticket to ride will be revealed.
