Sandy, the superstorm, caused unprecedented damage in New York and New Jersey and a lot of other North Eastern states. DC was spared. We got a lot of wind and rain, but not much damage. We were lucky.
But, before Sandy hit, Aditi and the kids came to spend the storm days with us since Somik was traveling on mission. It was fun spending 2 days with them in our apartment. We played and entertained and cooked and talked. I didn't go to work on Monday (Oct 29, 2012), but I had to. I did go to work on Tuesday, but late.
We were able to get our laundry done that weekend and Aru and Rey were just so ridiculously enthralled by it. They were just the best helpers ever. They wanted to do everything! :)
