Comic Book Day

Comic book day was on May 1st 2010. That day participating comic stores around North America give out free comics. I went to fantom comics in union station and got myself 6 free comics. The free comics are printed especially for comic book day.

Happy Start to My Morning :)

I woke up a little late this morning and as a consequence left late for class. It typically takes me 15 minutes to walk down to class. When I left my building I had about 7 minutes to get to class. I was walking really quick, hoping a bus would reach a bus stop the same time I would so I could get on it and reach class on time. As I started walking down, I turned and saw the bus at the bus stop behind me. I knew that the chances of me making it to the next bus stop before the bus did were slim, but I decided to sprint anyway. I was running, the bus passed by me and I still had a short distance to run to the stop. Things didn't look in my favour. There was no one at the bus stop and the signal had just turned green. There was no reason for the bus to stop (unless someone needed to get off). However, the bus did stop and the doors opened, but no one got off. The driver had stopped for me!!!!! I guess she saw my sprinting. It was awesome!!! :D Gotta love it when you come across an amazing bus driver!!!! :D :D

ps: I just think this image is funny :D

Tales from the Dark Side

I won this DVD through a random concert I entered. Why I would enter a contest to win this DVD, is a question better left unprobed. When I do end up watching it...I'll post what I thought of it.

Wot to rite?

hehe...that's pretty much me over the last 2 days.

I am obsessed! siiiigh

It's windyyyy out there

Today is an incredibly windy day. Good thing the temperatures are high. According to weather.com what the temperature is and what it feels like is EXACTLY the same. The fact that the wind won't do the same thing in sub zero tempertures just shows us that in winter, everything is out to get us!

Flower Mart 2010

Two days of flower marting this weekend! :) (Friday and Saturday) The flower mart is held a weekend every year on the grounds of the National Cathedral. Along with the flowers and numerous other stalls of different things, the country for this year was Ukraine. They had performances, stalls and food from there. Also a raffle to win a trip for 2 to Ukraine. The performances were quite fun. Their music and dances are extremely upbeat and happy :)

Today we went for the Ukranian tea that was delicious. A photo of the menu is attached, so I won't mention again what we ate. I wrote my name in Ukranian - that's the photo with the random collection of alphabet-looking squiggles. Other photos include performances and random parts of the flower mart.

Every year, during the flower mart, the cathedral opens its bell chambers to the public to go up and see how they are rung (manually). We did it last year. Climbed all of the 333 steps to go up. You get a great view of DC, see some giganticccc (no really! HUGEEEEEEEE) bells and get the best view of the darth vader gargoyle. I definitely recommend doing this.

Word of caution: I have heard this is a bad thing to do for those with allergies.

Farmer's Market!!!!!

Today was the first day the farmer's market for this year started. Yay! I went to the Georgetown one after yoga class. They had a lot of green leafy veggies and some strawberries and other assorted roots. I can't wait for more produce to come in the coming weeks. They also sell cheese, meats, gelato, pastas, salsa, and breads. I am really looking forward to exploring all this from now until October end. Yay!

-I took the photo today :)
