Honey Pig

From the Ramadan visit. This was the food almost finished! What a fantastic Iftaar.

The first time we went to Honey Pig was in Ramadan with Chris, Louise, Jess Trimble, Jeremy (Jess' husband) and Cassie (Jess' sister). It is a DELICIOUS Korean BBQ restaurant that is open 24 hours! We went again today after the puppy date with Chris and Louise.

The first time we went, we discovered the deliciousness of beef brisket after Chris and Louise ordered it. This time we knew we were going to get that, and we did. However, Chris and Louise got the duck and it was the best duck I've ever had!!! Next time, we have decided, our order will be beef brisket and duck! SOOOOO GOOD! The other interesting thing they do, is hot kimchi. I've never had it or heard of it anywhere else.

Doggie-Full Weekend!

Saurabh and Rupert                        Saurabh and Pickles

On Saturday we went to the Monticello Park in Alexandria to do a Doggie Photoshoot for Rupert (Stella's dog) and Bolt (Jennie's dog).

Stella picked us up and we headed to the park. Rupert sat between us in the car and was such a good little fellow. Bolt is exactly the meaning of his name! and SO skittish! haha! The weather was fabulous and it was a fun afternoon in the park. Saurabh had the time of his life!

Bolt getting to know Rupert. Dogs are weird.

After the shoot we went to Dairy Godmother in Del Ray for dessert. I got the Cranberry-Coriander-Orange sorbet. Probably one of the best sorbets I have ever had, though the coriander was unnecessary. It didn't add or take anything away. I feel it was just there to make the sorbet sound exotic. Either way, soooo delicious. (This had nothing to do with doggies, but just quite an essential part to note from the weekend)

On Sunday, we met up with Chris and Louise for a puppy date to meet they new 4 month old puppy, Pickles. He is RIDICULOUSLY attached to Chris and if I was still in Dover, I would have a puppy at home! So tiny and soooo much fun. He barked at everything, especially other dogs and kids. :) We went to the Barrel Oak Winery and met up with Samantha, Nabila (C & L's friends) and Sean (Samantha's friend) to spend the day out. Again, the weather was fabulous. The wine, not so much. But they allow dogs, so who cares about the wine?

Museum of Bad Art

The Museum of Bad Art (MOBA) is the only world's only museum dedicated to the collection, preservation, exhibition and celebration of bad art in all its forms.

I had read about the Museum of Bad Art a while ago and that there was branch in Brookline, MA. This trip to Boston we were able to go, so we went. It was just two walls of "bad art". It was right next to the T station but we'd never guessed it was there if I hadn't called. It was on the top floor of a school and the door was locked, accidentally. We had to be let in.

The book they sold was quite entertaining, so we bought it. It makes a fun coffee table book.

Delicious Cookie

The day after halloween, as I was walking out of the building I noticed these cookies at the front desk. I almost didn't pick one up because I thought it was pumpkin flavoured. But, I did. And HOW glad I was that I did. Absolutely delicious! I Went back and got more! :) There was chocolate in the center that just tasted splendid!!! mmmmm

Hurricane Sandy Days

Sandy, the superstorm, caused unprecedented damage in New York and New Jersey and a lot of other North Eastern states. DC was spared. We got a lot of wind and rain, but not much damage. We were lucky.

But, before Sandy hit, Aditi and the kids came to spend the storm days with us since Somik was traveling on mission. It was fun spending 2 days with them in our apartment. We played and entertained and cooked and talked. I didn't go to work on Monday (Oct 29, 2012), but I had to. I did go to work on Tuesday, but late

We were able to get our laundry done that weekend and Aru and Rey were just so ridiculously enthralled by it. They were just the best helpers ever. They wanted to do everything! :)

Lost Doggie - Found Buddy!

 Reunion!!!!

While we were at Cafe Romeo, a dog wandered in. We only realised when there was commotion in the kitchen. A couple of guys from the birthday group got the attention of this dog and called it out to the dining area. It had no leash and was continuously on the go, running under and around the table and making his way back into the kitchen again. One of the guys then took the dog out, where we assumed he returned to his owner.

After enjoying the ridiculous quantities of food we ordered, I had a cup of coffee and we shared a slice of cake before heading home. As we walked up Wisconsin Avenue, I noticed the same dog outside Whole Foods being held by one of the Whole Foods' employees and he was checking the phone number on the dog's collar and making a call. We crossed the street and went up to them. They were giving him water, so we went into Whole Foods to get bread.

When we came back out, I asked if they had been able to contact his owners and they said that they got an answering machine when they called, and that it seemed to be a place that is open 9-5. No contact with this big guy's owner, that meant. Then, another employee came out of Whole Foods and said a lady who works at Whole Foods and lives close by is going to come by and see if she recognizes him. At this point I told them that we had seen him at Cafe Romeo, so this meant that he had been wandering quite a bit and who knows how far he came from.

We wanted to wait, at least, until the lady who works at Whole Foods came by. While we were waiting, we noticed that this dog was a STRONGGGGG boy! Hard to hold down with just his collar! But, he was sooo good!

As we were waiting, his mommy drove by with someone else. As soon as she saw him, they stopped the car and she hopped out. He got mighty excited to see her! :D She said that she was 'glad she decided to come up this way'. Which means, he was lost a fair distance away, if she didn't really think he would come up so far! I'm soooooo glad they did come up this way and he was found! :D

After his mommy came, we found out his name is Buddy and that he was recently rescued and that's why the number on his collar lead to the shelter, she hadn't had a chance to get him a collar yet.

Ahhh...All's well that end's well! ♥

Happy Birthday Somebody!

We were at Cafe Romeo for dinner this evening. There was a large group of people celebrating a birthday. Turns out, they had too much cake, so they gave us a slice! :)

The guy standing at the table with the large group of people was celebrating his birthday. The other guy standing was the one handing out the cake
