Also, our last one :(
But, at least this year they did it in May and not October like they did last year, when I couldn't go (I was in Austin for the Family Girls Reunion). If they did it in October again this year, I wouldn't have been able to say my goodbyes. Small mercies. :)

On Saturday, we started with the Gyro and Sunkist, our tradition from the first Greek festival we went to back in 2007, 10 Greek festivals ago!

Then the skies darkened, and large drops of rain started coming down, so we headed home for the afternoon.
We returned for dinner and lamb! :)

On Sunday, we went back for lunch. Some more gyro, and some lemonade the kids sell every festival.

After lunch, we went to the indoor food buffet and got Pastitsio and Manestra for dinner later this week :), before going back home to rest for a bit

The day we moved into Chancery, we found out about the Greek Festival. We passed by the festival in our cab from Columbia Plaza, saw the crowds, and our cabbie told us about the delicious food available there. The next day, we were there for food. Since then, every year, if we are in DC at festival time, we are at there. For the last 10 years, this has been a constant feature in our lives... The Flower Mart, and the Greek Festival are the beginnings of the lasts for us with regard to our lives in DC. It is bitter sweet, and I deal with it best by not dwelling on it. Good times! Good memories! What will life hand us as we move on...?
