A Still From the MovieThe National Geographic Museum has its All Roads Festival going on. I bought a ticket to go for Desert Flower this evening. I am so glad I decided to go for this movie even though I had no company.
The movie is about a girl who runs away from her village in Somalia, makes it to Mogadishu and eventually in London. In London she becomes a high fashion model and ultimately a spokesperson for the UN. The movie is based on the book by the same name and is written by Waris Dirie who tells her incredible story. The movie is brilliantly made! This showing was the US premier. I highly recommend going for the movie when it releases in the theatres, hopefully in February.
