This was my first time at a farm in the US...I think. With coupons to do 4 different activities at this farm, we had a lot of fun! We included Sohini and myself. When we got to the farm there were giant hay people with pumpkins around them. We decided to take a photo with one of them. I went first, came back unscathed. The Sohini went. She asked me if I sat on hay man's lap. I told her no...she however decided sitting on his lap was a good idea. Didn't turn out to be a good idea for the rest of the evening. hehehehe. Madam has hay poking her butt for the rest of the evening!! :D :D :D
After that wonderful welcome, we got to Apple Cannon, which is basically shooting out apples from a cannon at a target. The prize was a pumpkin. We, each got 2 shots and were miserable at aiming. Oh well...
After apple cannoning we went through the corn maze. It was fun, but we totally cheated. Took a photo of a map when we found it. Before entering the maze we were handed a pamphlet where we had to collect the clues. They had picture clues and word clues. We didn't collect all the clues...it was getting dark and we had other stuff to do before we headed back to Boston. We exited through the entrance. :-p
After the maze we went on the hay ride! This time miss pokey-butt was wiser and sat on a piece of paper! Hahaha! It was dark by then, so apparently the coyotes come out during hay rides because the hay wagon vibrates the ground and sends mice etc scurrying around and makes them easy prey for the coyotes. We did see a coyote in the distance and because it was dark we just saw a grey form. But we did see one (sorta!). The guide told us more about the farm, its owners and farming.
