The train pulled up at the Rockville metro. I smelled a burning smell, but I have smelled that before. I presumed it was some brake issue and everything would continue as normal, as it did before. I sat down at my usual spot, removed my nook and began reading LOTR. The train doors eventually closed, but the train wouldn’t move. I was immersed in my book, wondered why the train hadn’t left yet and continued reading. I noticed a lady on the platform looking at me, then talking to a guy and smiling. I ignored her and continued to read. Suddenly I hear loud banging at my window. I look out and it is the station manager!!! She asks me to get up. I got up, looked around and noticed that the entire train was empty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I walk to the closest door to me (which was at one end of the compartment) but the station manager outside walks to the middle door, so I go there. She tries to open it, but can’t. Then I notice another metro employee walking through the compartments to mine. I meet him at the third door that he tries to open from inside. While he is trying to open that door from inside the train driver pages him on the walky-talky asking if the train is all clear and she can leave. He doesn’t respond the first time, he is still trying to get the door open. She pagees again, he tells me then that he is going to have to let me off at the next stop and then tells the driver to leave. After the train starts moving, he leads me THROUGH the compartments!!! The doors we are never allowed to go through except in case of emergency. It was kinda cool to walk through those doors as the train sped from Rockville to Twinbrook. I walked through 2 compartments…basically until we came to a door he had the key to. He then paged the driver to stop at Twinbrook to let the ‘customer’ out. Hehe. At Twinbrook, once the train stopped, he opened one half of the door to let me out…and then life went back to be non-adventurous.
